NorthPoint Development will construct the area’s largest-ever speculative industrial building at Logistics Park Kansas City in Edgerton.
The structure, Inland Port XIV, will include 822,104 square feet and also will be the market’s first spec building to feature a 36-foot clear height.
Buildings constructed on a speculative basis, meaning without tenant commitments, generally signify the strength of the markets and submarkets they are built in.
“Upon completion of Inland Port XIV, which is expected in December 2015, there will be approximately 3.6 million square feet of new buildings” in Logistics Park Kansas City, Patrick Robinson, a vice president at NorthPoint Development, said in a release.
NorthPoint is the master developer for the 1,500-acre logistics park, which surrounds the intermodal facility that BNSF Railway Co. opened late in 2013 in Edgerton. The park has the capacity for 17 million square feet of distribution and warehouse facilities.
