Overland Park Fleet Maintenance Facility

Finkle+Williams was selected through an RFQ issued by the City of Overland Park to prepare a program and evaluation of the feasibility for the consolidation of Public Works, Parks & Recreation and Police fleet maintenance services into one centralized facility. The result of the study provided the City with a program of consolidated departments, options for two site procurement and a confirmed budget to include in their upcoming CIP. The City then retained Finkle+Williams and our consultants to complete the design and oversee construction for the 63,000 SF project.
Park Place East Office Building
50,000 SF build-to-suit office building. Three stories including outdoor patio, flexible meeting space and both interior core offices with glass front and open, flexible perimeter offices that encourage collaboration and inclusiveness.
The Lofts at Lenexa
The Lofts at Lenexa City Center is a mixed use development consisting of 9,200 SF Office, 67 luxury apartments and 52 private secured structured parking spaces. The office space is located at the ground level served by the main entry lobby but also open to the city street frontage with storefront access. A grand stair at the entry invites you up to the first floor of the apartment level with a view of the outdoor Terrace featuring a spa, pool, grilling stations fire pits and a TV pavilion. Four floors of apartment open up to the Terrace on the north and west with the other sides opening to the Lenexa City Center. Additional amenities including a clubhouse, fitness facility, dog wash station, storm shelter and central trash collection on each floor. Additional storage facilities are located on each floor and within the parking structure.
Master plan for a new, 123 acre industrial park, including (8) buildings totaling approximately 2 million gross square feet. Construction includes Buildings 1 & 2, totaling approximately 300,000 gross square feet in addition to the project infrastructure.
A new corporate home to Tortoise, one of the leading global niche investment organizations specializing in assets and services essential to the needs of society. Located in the heart of a thriving mixed-use development in the upscale suburb of Kansas City, their 3-story office includes a fitness center, multi-functional training facility with adjoining café and outdoor plaza, wellness rooms, collaboration space throughout, and a monumental stair serving as a focal point for communication and interaction among co-workers. A media studio was also incorporated for in-house production of market insights and ongoing Tortoise Fund updates for institutional investors and national media organizations.
Through a design-build partnership, Finkle Williams will design, develop, and oversee construction for a new Fleet Maintenance Facility to serve the Lenexa Municipal Services. The new building will feature 10 work bays capable of servicing all city fleet vehicles, a body shop, weld shop, parts storage and management, employee locker rooms and break room, and administration areas. The facility will be a Pre-engineered Metal Building on a cast-in-place concrete stem wall.
Finkle+ Williams was hired to give 2020 fitness a larger, more modern facility to match their back-to-basics no frills training and fitness style. Converted from an old post office, 2020’s new space will include communal spaces include a coffee lounge, new class facilities and a rooftop deck for golfing and putting. Painted steel, raw plywood and garage doors enhance 2020’s identity and new clean/ industrial feel.
Entertainment and social project located in Idaho. The 60,000 sq. ft. facility will contain bowling, laser tag, conference center and stand- alone restaurant. Designed in collaboration with White Hutchinson Leisure & Learning Group.
Lord of Life Church
The new Student Studio space at Lord of Life Lutheran Church creates a place for middle school and high school students to come together to grow in their friendships and their faith. An open and energetic space, the new Student Studio promotes transparency while its simplicity encourages students to unplug and unwind. Flexibility of use is a priority in this space, so an open plan allows for furniture reconfiguration while learning nooks and a coffee lounge provides a place for dialogue and learning.
